The Church is communion with Jesus. The Church is the Body of Christ. Through the Spirit and his action in the sacraments, above all the Eucharist, Christ, who once was dead and is now risen, establishes the community of believers as his own Body. In the unity of this Body, there is a diversity of members and functions. All members are linked to one another, especially to those who are suffering, to the poor and persecuted. The Church is this Body of which Christ is the head: she lives from him, in him, and for him; he lives with her and in her. The Church is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. the Spirit is the soul, as it were, of the Mystical Body, the source of its life, of its unity in diversity, and of the riches of its gifts and charisms (CCC 802-810). The Church in this world is the sacrament of salvation, the sign and the instrument of the communion of God and men (CCC 780).
The current of grace is a powerful reality destined to touch the entire Church, not just a select group. As Jean-Luc Moens says, "It is broader than a movement, because it is not limited to a group of members: it is destined to touch the whole Church." All of us who have received the baptism in the Spirit are part of this current. Its purpose is to make the experience of baptism in the Spirit available to everyone—both Catholics and non-Catholics—because this experience is a gift for all the baptized. We earnestly desire for spiritual gifts and for using these gifts of the Holy Spirit as well as all the charisms He bestows for the building up of the body of Christ. We are, as directed by Holy Spirit, always looking for opportunities to share the Gospel, strengthen parishes, and support individuals in their earthly journey with nourishments for their soul and body.
Charisms are "a wonderfully rich grace for the apostolic vitality and for the holiness of the entire Body of Christ, provided they really are genuine gifts of the Holy Spirit and are used in full conformity with authentic promptings of this same Spirit, that is, in keeping with charity, the true measure of all charisms." (CCC800)
Anointing Fire Community is made up of people who recognize a common charism and commit themselves to the Lord and to one another. We share a stable life of faith together. Our charism, mission, the rights and responsibilities of our members, and our ways of governing are all described in our statutes, are to be recognized by the competent ecclesiastical authority. We provide a formation program for all of our members and welcome people from different states of life. Our statutes also require that our leadership be renewed periodically.
Anointing Fire Community is a covenant community born from a specific call from God to live the Gospel in a particular way. It's not about doing more than what the Gospel asks, but about living it out faithfully according to our unique charism. Members make a special commitment, a covenant, to each other and to a shared way of life, which provides stability and mutual support. This commitment ensures that members can rely on one another to persevere in their good intentions and to be supported in living out the life they believe they've been called to.
We are on a mission, until everyone has heard the Good News of redeeming love of Jesus Christ.
